Terms of Use

By installing or using Crisp Scan ("the app"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What Crisp Scan is

Crisp Scan is an app for scanning documents with your phone camera, organising them into folders, recognising the text on each page and exporting everything as PDF. It is provided by Reginaldo Vitor Botelho (BotNow).

2. Use of the app

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on your devices. You may not copy, modify, decompile or redistribute the application.

3. Your documents stay on your device

This has an important practical consequence: there is no cloud backup. If the device is lost, reset or damaged, or if the app is uninstalled, your documents are lost with it and we cannot recover them. Export a PDF of anything you need to keep.

4. Text recognition

The app automatically recognises the text on each page so you can search by content. This recognition is automatic and may contain errors, particularly with handwriting, low image quality or unusual typefaces.

We make no warranty as to the accuracy of recognised text. Do not rely on it as the sole source for decisions that require precision — always check the original image.

5. Ads, subscription and one-time purchase

The free version shows ads and applies a watermark to exported pages from the third page onwards. You may remove the watermark from a single export by watching a rewarded ad, where available.

Premium removes ads and the watermark, and is available as a subscription (monthly or yearly) or as a one-time lifetime purchase.

• All purchases are processed by Google Play. We never receive or store your card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, until cancelled.
• Cancellation is done in your Google Play account and takes effect at the end of the period already paid for.
• The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment, with no renewal and no recurring charge.
• Refunds follow Google Play's policy.
• Prices may change; changes apply only to future periods and are communicated by the store.

6. Acceptable use

You are solely responsible for what you scan. By using the app you confirm that you have the right to scan, store and share the documents in question, and you agree not to use it to:

• reproduce third-party documents without authorisation;
• forge or tamper with documents, or give them a false appearance of authenticity;
• any unlawful purpose or any purpose that infringes another person's rights.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its brand, visual identity and code belong to the developer. The documents you scan are yours — we claim no rights over them.

8. Availability

The app is provided "as is". We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time. Features that depend on system services — such as text recognition and automatic edge detection — may not work on devices without Google services.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss of documents, lost profits, or indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the app. This includes data loss caused by device failure, loss or replacement, or by uninstalling the app. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that applicable consumer law grants you and which cannot be waived.

10. Privacy

How data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. To delete your data, see Delete data.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with the last update date at the top. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the new version.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, with the courts of Ribeirão Preto, SP having jurisdiction, except where consumer law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your own place of residence.
